Success Build is a platform that builds and automates the systems organizations actually need — and brings them together in one place.
What is Success Build?
We build tools for real organizations with real operations, and we have a lot of experience delivering real value. This is not another app that does one thing well and leaves you stitching together the rest. Success Build is a growing platform where every feature connects to every other feature, because that is how organizations actually work.
We started with group communication ... mailing lists, member management, moderation, and archiving. Communication is the cornerstone of everything else. When people cannot reach each other reliably, nothing else matters. It just makes sense to start here.
Why Another Distribution List?
Fair question. We have used Google Groups. We have used Meetup. We have used Mailchimp, Constant Contact, Slack, Discord, and a thousands others methods to communicate. Some of these are even similar enough to make the point. Every one of them solved part of the problem and left gaps in the rest.
- Google Groups gives you email but no member profiles, no pipeline, no calendar integration worth mentioning.
- Meetup charges per member and owns your audience.
- Slack is great for chat but terrible for announcements, archives, and anything asynchronous.
- Mailchimp is a marketing tool pretending to be a community tool.
We needed something that treated group communication as a first-class feature — with moderation, digest options, proper threading, and an archive — and then kept building from there. Not a bolt-on. Not an integration with another service that could change its API or pricing at any time. A real, self-hosted, owned-by-you mailing list that works the way mailing lists should work. And then some.
So we built it.
Just because that is how Stewardship works.
P.S. For those that remember Usenet or believe in the current iteration, we've got more planned. (get in touch!) Why does this matter? The idea of topic‑based, threaded global conversations survives, but the underlying market has consolidated around centralized, ad‑driven platforms with heavy analytics and moderation.
The Platform Grows With You
Communication was the starting point. Here is what is already live:
- Groups — 12 distinct group types (advisory boards, clubs, pipelines, teams, and more) each with their own permissions, roles, and workflows
- Mailing Lists — group email with distribution, moderation, digests, and full archive
- Member Management — profiles, import/export, segments, tags, and role-based access
- Deal Pipeline — prospect tracking and sales forecasting built into your groups
- Calendar — Google and Outlook sync with group calendar sharing
- CRM Integration — bidirectional sync with Mautic for contact management and marketing automation
And here is what is coming — integrated one feature at a time, because we would rather ship something solid than promise everything at once:
- Workflows — automated onboarding, renewals, and member lifecycle management
- Events — registration, ticketing, and attendance tracking tied to your groups
- Learning — courses, certifications, and training programs
- Reporting — dashboards and analytics across membership, engagement, and revenue
- Deeper Integrations — payment processors, social platforms, and the tools you already use

Free Features, Paid Services
Foundational platform features are free, and we are shaping what that includes. At the core, we believe a certain degree, style and type of communication should be at no cost. The tools, the groups, the mailing lists — they are part of the platform and what is functional now is 100% supported by Stewardship plans. Once we are able to define a stable set of essential features, we will let the community know. Our commitment is that there will always be a useful and meaningful free tier.
What costs money is the work: setting up your organization, migrating your data, customizing workflows, building integrations specific to your operation. That is service work, and you can either pay for it directly or incorporate it into your stewardship plan.
No per-seat pricing. No surprise tier upgrades. No feature walls. The platform grows and you grow with it.
Why Open Source?
Because your organization should not depend on a vendor that can change the rules whenever it wants. Success Build is built on Drupal, an open-source foundation used by governments, universities, and enterprises worldwide. You can inspect the code. You can modify it. You can leave and take it with you. That is how trust works.
We are integrating with open source, proprietary and other platform types. We will clearly communicate the delineation between them when working together to support best execution.
As our footprint of additional services expands, integration with open-source projects will come first. Proprietary solutions will drive engagement for many organizations, but our commitment to open source is unwavering.
